Wow. Wow. What a story. What an Effing story.

Achal directed me to this as the origin of "Luff". I can imagine how awesome the script must've been.

At the risk of sounding too critical, your more recent stories no longer have the magic of sentences like "Anything that in happening causes itself to happen again, happens again." :)

Hi,
To read these stories is a real delight. And Soumendra, good you wrote that disclaimer...may be...start it in a bollywood manner next time on with CBFC rating too....just kidding...I place myself in the second category...but I have to read your story about subset too, to actually decide...I am a little complex...but then life is more....Keep blogging

I think a small disclaimer would be in order.

Not less than two ladies have rebuked me so far for writing this one, for somehow they assumed that I based my characters on them. Though I might have lifted a thing or two from my experiences, these stories are in no way descriptions of people I know.

And those who have read the series True Lies might be surprised by certain simiarities. They might as well remember from editor’s note that The Kenshin Memoirs had been taken up by Fra Diavalo (Sudhir) after Neville Longbottom (that’s me) had left.

Sorry about this long delay in replying. As Anshul pointed out, I was out of town. I have to add a story about that, too.

In my story, I was looking at those who can actually fall in love and I categorized them. The kind Sucharit described are a subset of those who are incapable of true intimacy and they do exist. What they finally become depends a lot on their socio-economic background and their culture. There is always the usual intersection of grey areas.

I can not presume to have known it all. Reminds me of the stanza 1.36 from The Golden Gate by Vikram Seth (Yes, I remember the stanza number! It goes like - Time siddles by... ...in the still night).

Nah!!!

This is my guess of what happened. (Which means you can take a few extra grains of salt if you like.)

The governement of India wanted some hundred or so sites to be blocked so they asked the ISP’s to do it. The stupid Indian ISP’s know only one way to block a site and that is to remove the domain itself! (What else can you expect? I think most of them are 1 or 2 engineers businesses anyways!) So, the ISP’s simply blocked blogspot and typepad, etc off!

It got the government some really bad PR though… Can’t say they dont deserve it. ;) But all the blogs are back up and I think the government has clarified that they never intended to wipe blogspot, etc of the Indian web.

So, to answer your question - No! Apart from a few selected sites, none are banned in India. Definitely not baboon logic or any the numerous blogspots out there.

I did not know where else to put this comment, hence here.

I heard the great UPA Government is banning blogs (as opposed to NDA's POTA, this is their way of stopping terrorism). How does that affect your site? Does it make these articles (and my comments) illegal?

Never-to-fall-in-love hopeless cynics are not much of a trouble. They either pretend to be in one of the other three categories or sit on Himalayan tops. Actually, I dont think they really exist. At least I am yet to see one. Deep down, everyone is a fool-in-love... or one in the making.

I think Obel is out of town right now... I sure would like to hear what he has to say about your questions.

Strange Love Doctor, a few random comments.

You can write again.

Good job well done.

This is the war room, you can't fight in here.

There are no rules in love and war.

Whatever in happening causes itself to happen again, happens again.

Shouldn't there be a 4th type for the pathetic never-to-fall-in-love hopeless cynics, such that if left to just them, mankind wouldn't have made it so far? The group that would rather criticise someone for what she is, than love her for what she is not. The people who would die for what they believe, but won't live for what they don't. The unfortunate lot who could always calculate the price of humanity, but would never be able to comprehend its value.

What type are you? What type am I?
