Luff, two F’s

This was originally an unflattering post about some people including my friends. Now, I didn’t mean to offend all of them, but things have a habit of following Murphy’s law, and it would be very unkind of me if some of them were to misunderstand me. So here it is, absolutely free of controversy and probably very dull.

I don’t know if it is the terrible quality of our movie or the general lack of curiosity or the usual apathy, but very few have asked us about the meaning of the title.

In the last couple of months, I was on a spree watching Woody Allen. He is awesome. I’ll grant Mani Ratnam credit for an idea, but the movie was bad, corny and full of cliches and interesting subplots (which evolved into pointless indulgences due to lack of crafting and direction). I found the character of Guru to be well crafted and well conceived, I liked it. However, they had to adapt the character to fit it into the hollywoodish unsatisfying conclusion of the movie. If I watch the movie again, I think I’ll be able to distinguish between the character fleshed out on the screen writer’s desk and the one adapted in Mani Ratnam’s chamber.

The Beginning

The world, and unfortunately the people in it too, are more a bunch of unromantic unintelligent pretentious and stupid fools than anything else. Worse, some of them are day-dreamers. The worst - I am one of them. I don’t know if that sounds egocentric or self-censuring.

That pretty much sums up what this blog is going to be.

An ode to Obel

Kudos to Neeraja for locating this. We co-authored this one too back in the day…

Once upon a time there lived a boy called Obel
Who dreamed of getting a Nobel
So, he started on his journey
On his way he met Roni
And his path was no longer stony.
