Some people don’t like Tolkien, and some people like Titanic. Cest la vie, what can you do, what can you say? Someone should do a correlation someday. Speaking of which, Mike in German is Michelle, but of course not everyone knew that. Also I don’t watch Australia vs Bangladesh test matches (which is real cricket, not the Twenty20 or the Fifty50), why should I read 700 pages to see Voldy defeated by a perky teenager thrice in 1-1 combats? tolkiens works are way more boring…
of course the last book (HP) is not exactly humorous like her(JKR’s) prev ones . but an(sh)ul i think tolkien sux. i have never been able 2 read it since the time i 1st read it.

I hope I will never again have to endure being in the earshot of someone arguing that the eleven year olds “deserve” Tolkein :P

I mean, c’mon, I always said that Harry Potter was for teens (and it is a well written book for that). You insisted that the teens deserved something better. Lord of the Rings, to be more precise.

And yes, the stupidity never gets over.

I guess I will just come out and say it. I for one am glad that all this stupidity is over – and hopefully for ever! I will never again have to endure being in the earshot of some dimwit comparing Tolkien’s works with something that has finally sealed its fate as a children’s book.
